Registration & getting ready for the PE Exam

Registration for the October pencil and paper PE exam closes September 3rd 2019

"Registration for the pencil-and-paper October 2019 PE exams is currently open and will close at 3:00 p.m. EDT on September 3" - NCEES

We wanted to share the news of the timeline for the exam. You have until September 3rd to register for the exam. We do our best to keep everyone current with important dates and information.

Know what you can and cannot brings with you. You don’t want to lose out on a valuable resource in the exam. NCEES Exam Preparation Guide pages 24-25 explains what you can and cannot bring into your exam. Contact your state board or the NCEES if you have any questions about what is and is not allowed. As Benjamin Franklin said, “By Failing to Prepare, You’re Preparing to Fail”

As Dr. Mansour always reminds us, some places say 200-300 hours is enough, but aim for 500 hours of studying to get ready for this exam. Studying for this exam is intense and finding a balance between work, studying, and regular life will be the hardest part.

The exam is a little less than two months away. Think of studying as your second job with a finite timeline October 25th, 2019. As we mentioned before the balance between work, studying and everyday life with your family and friends will be hard to balance. Therefore, we suggest making a plan of action. Be the boss of your studying and schedule time daily to devote to only studying as much as possible!
